So Thankful

November 29, 2011

This Thanksgiving Frank, Carter, Frank’s parents, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend and I drove to visit the Geddie side of the family (My mother-in-law’s side). We drove 2 hours and thankfully Carter slept almost the whole time both ways! I think all those people exhausted him. His family is from a small town…a very small town. Uncle Larry and Aunt Judy always serve food to the people in the city who won’t have a Thanksgiving meal of their own at their community center. The past couple of years we have gone down there to help serve food and to hang out with the family. This includes Frank’s 94 year-old grandma.

The community center is next to an old…very old movie theatre they have. They use the theatre to put on plays as well as to play movies for the kids. I have no idea how old it is but it seems like it has been there since forever! Here are some pictures. PS – on my Christmas list is a better camera!

After that trip, we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. Carter had sweet potatoes and wore his Thanksgiving pajamas.

Turkey butt!

I am thankful for too many things this year. My husband of 1 year, our new happy and healthy baby boy, our loving family that would do anything for us, our friends, our home, that in this economy we have jobs, and that I am genuinely happy everyday. I am so, so thankful.
